Informe Regional sobre Desarrollo Humano para América Latina y el Caribe 2010. Actuar sobre el futuro: romper la transmisión intergeneracional de la desigualdad.

La desigualdad es una de las principales características que definen la historia de América Latina y el Caribe. Una muy alta y persistente desigualdad que, acompañada de una baja movilidad social, han llevado a la región a caer en una “trampa de desigualdad”. En un círculo vicioso difícil de romper. ¿Cómo podemos acabar con esta situación? ¿Qué políticas públicas se pueden diseñar para evitar que la desigualdad se siga transmitiendo de una generación a otra? ¿Por qué el sistema político y los mecanismos de redistribución no han sido eficaces en revertir este patrón? Este primer Informe Regional sobre Desarrollo Humano para América Latina y el Caribe ofrece respuestas a estas y otras preguntas. El mensaje central consiste en que sí es posible reducir la desigualdad en América Latina y el Caribe.

The future of research on Human Development in Latin America. Special Edition Humanum RLDH 2011

We invite you to visit the new center for the documentation on Human Development Center for the documentation on Human Development

Authors are encouraged to submit papers to be published in Humanum (the Latin American Journal for Human Development). Papers ca be related to the theoretical or methodological improvement aspects of the Human Development approach, but should be primarily concerned with the application of the approach to policies in different development areas, especially those of inequality and poverty.
